After a year away, I am back with Allstate and the Chellis Agency.  In late 2024, early 2025, I switched from Allstate back to USAA because USAA was a couple hundred dollars lower across all my policies (collectively, not per policy).

Over the course of 2025, my premiums just seemed to increase on a relatively consistent basis.  Any savings I had initially achieved were quickly erased and I was now paying more than ever.

USAA claimed there were “Industry-wide” price increases and that ALL insurance companies were going to be higher.  They were confident they were still cumulatively lower for the assortment of policies I had.  In the second half of 2025, another increase occurred, which really raised my overall premiums (I had no accidents or life changing events that would cause any punitive changes).  Again, the explanation of “Industry-wide” increases seemed to be the go to.

Out of sheer curiosity, I met with Ally at the Chellis Agency, who spent nearly two hours going line by line with each and every policy I had.  This was not done to remove coverages I had, in the attempt to save money.  Instead, it was done to make sure coverages matched (dollar for dollar) and I was truly getting an “apples to apples” comparison between my USAA policies and what Allstate could offer.  Ally also confirmed that “Industry-wide” increases was not really a thing and that each company controls their own pricing (as I suspected).

Long story short, Allstate was over $2000 cheaper (per year) than USAA for my collection of policies (home, auto, motorcycles, and others).  The coverages never changed and there was no finagling  of numbers.  She entered the stuff in and the system kicked out the prices.  Without hesitation, I was back with Allstate.

The grass isn’t always greener on the other side and, my decision to leave in the first place, cost me more than $2000 in 2025.

Ally and the folks at the Chellis agency are awesome to deal with; the prices speak for themselves; and there’s something to be said for being able to walk into an office, sit down with an actual human being, and get truly personalized service.  Something I didn’t think about when I left a year ago, but sorely missed.

I couldn't be more pleased with my experience.  Just switched auto & homeowners to Allstate with this company.  My homeowners premium was cut in half, no joke.  Ally was wonderful and babysat me through the whole process.  Very knowledgeable and responsive.   In fact, every time I called, somebody answered the phone.  No voice mails, no waiting on a callback, etc.  I'm kinda funny about that... 40+ years in the business world taught me to be leery of companies that push everything to email & voice mail. Ally at the Con Chellis Allstate agency was absolutely fantastic to work with. She was extremely thorough and worked hard to make sure I received the best quote possible—one that was fair and truly fit my needs. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would, I recently moved to SC and needed to update my insurance for my vehicle, not only did they provide assistance with my move (DMV advice) they went out of the way to save me money and get more vehicle removed from my current policy with a different Allstate agent. I've been with Progressive since 2013. Ive just recently added a new minivan for the wife, and a 19 yr old driver to my auto policy. Although I've  notice small increases over the years, I was shocked to see my policy price double in just one renewal. I knew it was time for a change. I call several other big companies for quotes, but none felt right until I called the local Allstate office in Summerville,  SC. I was led to a young lady named Ally. I explained my situation. She was super friendly and made me feel like she really cared about my issues. After discussing my needs and hearing her quote. I knew that I had found folks that were helpful and cared about their clients. And I saved over 2400.00 a year with Alstate. The savings wete great, but it was Ally's charming and kind personally that led me to change to your company.  I hope and pray that she is recognized for her warm and winning personally. She was the first person in a long line of calls that made me feel welcome and that goes a long way in my book.
